He released big pieces such as &#8220;Daibosatsu Toge&#8221; and &#8220;Miyamoto Musashi,&#8221; on the other hand, he also made those films with the theme of socially vulnerable groups such as &#8220;Mori to Muzuumi no Matsuri (The Outsiders)&#8221; featuring Ainu people, and &#8220;Kiga Kaikyo (A Fugitive from the Past)&#8221; featuring Buraku issues. In 1965, he complained to Toei about cutting a part of &#8220;Kiga Kaiyo&#8221; without permission, later this led him to leave the company. He collapsed while shooting &#8220;Shinken Shobu (Fight with Real Swords),&#8221; which is a sequel to &#8220;Miyamoto Musashi&#8221; and written by Daisuke Ito.
